Fun on Furlough

Fun or trying to. So decor projects and furniture upcycling is not my full time. My normal 9-to-5 is handling marketing and communications. This week - I'm on furlough in response to the COVID situation. So it's another week to check off a bunch of things on my to-do list, but I don't know where my motivation has gone too.

This past weekend the weather was FINALLY gorgeous here in the Chicago suburbs, and I was super productive. I got cookin' on refinishing an old turn of century trunk and making a hanging flower pot holder for Mother's Day. The trunk is taking quite a bit of work. It had a very thin layering of wood paper that has taken on smell over the years and needed to be completely removed. I was able to scrape some of it off and then the rest all had to be sanded. Still not finished yet.

Then, Monday came. And motivation went out the window. And I don't know how to get it back. Ideas? I have a list to check off, but none of it seems important or necessary. I don't know if it's the last two months catching up with me or if none of the projects are quite interesting enough to get me moving.

Hopefully I'll check in sometime soon with some project news.
