DIY or not to DIY... in Quarantine

If we've heard it before, we've heard it a million times, since the words of quarantine and social distancing have become everyday language for us - this is an unprecedented time. It's not completely - but it is for most of us alive today. When the flu hit back in 1918, much of the same actions were the same - we just weren't extremely digital and so focused on external interactions and places to go eat and things to do. We're lucky in a way - for most people, you can have your groceries and dinners delivered to your doors. This is a time for everyone, and the world to reboot and reset - but yes, I'm not avoiding the whole factor of stress and uncertainty.

That's why the question arises - to DIY or not to DIY while in quarantine. For me, I had high hopes of getting all these little projects done. I wanted to re-caulk a sink, create some new pallet signs to sell, refresh some furniture that's int he garage, and more. But I haven't gotten to any of those things yet - and I've been home for several weeks.

I think if you need a creative outlet to get through the stress and uncertainty - then keep plugging away on that new bathroom or painting your guest room. And if you need to rest and sleep and binge watch Tiger King - then do that. No matter which route you take - you have to listen to what your body needs and do that.

And promise me this - that no matter which one you choose - when this all ends - you won't come out of this and look back on any of the days as 'wasted'. Because if you're listening to your own self, then none of it is wasted.
